Orono Top by Itch To Stitch Patterns
For those of you that know of Kennis Wong, designer and owner of Itch to Stitch and her garment designs you are lucky. For those of you who do not know Kennis, read on.
Finding a new garment designer and sewing a few garments of hers have been a joy this week. All of her patterns are sold as PDF download patterns. I have shied away from non-paper patterns, but I'm a changed person! I decided to take a few minutes to write about Itch to Stitch and share my experience with one of her designs, the Orono Top.
Enjoy!
Easy Pillow Case From Jersey Knit
Learning to sew as a young girl was great! One of the first projects I made was a nine-patch pillow. The second project was a pillowcase for my bed. The pillowcase was made from one fabric. I learned how to finished the open end with a simple two fold hem and top stitching. I sewed the fabric closed on the side and bottom and I was done! Success! My very own pillowcase.
Since that time, pillowcases have become fancier and our maker friends have become more creative with how to add decorative edging to a pillowcase. I'm using their techniques to create pillowcases from or Jersey Knit.
Read on and then download the pattern and share it with your friends!
Sewing with Batik Cotton Jersey Knit
We each have experiences working with Jersey Knit - but not all Jersey Knit is the same.
I'd like to share tips and techniques that I've gathered over the last few years regarding our Cotton Jersey Knit. Not all Jersey Knit is the same. As a matter of fabric, there are so many fabric combinations and weaving techniques available on the market.Â
Let's Make a Simple Kimono - Using your Serger
Sometimes we need a "very" simple jacket to make - no fuss, no facings, no inset sleeves, no fuss (I said that before...). This project - the Easy Rolled Edge Kimono is just that project. I find it great fun to take a break from more complex projects to whip up a gift for my mom or a friend and this jacket is perfect.
It's getting colder and colder each day here in North Dakota and I decided to share this simple garment with mom. She is home and staying inside most of the time, and a simple throw-on jacket is perfect for her days.
Follow along as we show you how to make this Kimono Jacket.
